General information

The control unit operates according to a special algorithm. If the control unit detects a failure or any other violation, which is interpreted by it as a deviation from the norm, the control unit responds and sets the appropriate fault codes. Not only real failures can cause the installation of fault codes. To do this, it is enough to disconnect the electrical plug. wires with electr. nutrition. Breach of electr. the circuit in the connector will be perceived by the control unit as a malfunction, and it will set the appropriate code.

In cases of violation of electr. contact malfunction can be eliminated, but the set fault code will be stored in the memory of the control unit until it is erased forcibly. This allows you to find out in what electr. the circuit has malfunctioned and also searched for the cause of the malfunction, even if it is no longer present. The control unit also stores information on the number of reported cases of each fault. However, to obtain such information, it is necessary to use the EE diagnostic program installed on a personal computer. Most often failures occur not in the control unit, but in electr. system wiring and peripherals. Fault codes that are misleading and difficult to diagnose, rarely occur and usually do not belong to the control unit itself. In a good control unit, protected from external interference, such fault codes should not occur. One would assume that, for example, an inductive sensor would react to external interference in the form of radio signals or strong magnetic fields. However, tests and measurements performed have shown that external interference cannot have such a strong effect on control units. However, there can always be malfunctions associated with contact disturbances with the mass, with corrosion or weakening of the contacts in the connectors - regardless of the quality of work performed and the manufacture of add. body equipment.

Read fault codes

Lamp fault codes must be read on a stationary vehicle. It does not matter if the engine is running or not. Perform the following steps. Turn the starter key to the on / off position and wait a few seconds. Press and hold

diagnostic switch 1 for at least one second, then release it. In this case, the di-agnostic lamp goes out for 2 seconds and then starts issuing fault codes. The sequences of flashes of the lamp are separated from each other by easily visible pauses.

First, the configuration code of the control unit is displayed, see above the section "Configuration codes". Then follow the trouble codes. If there is no fault code in the memory of the control unit,

only the configuration code is issued.

The first issued 3 or 4-bit configuration code. For more information, see the Configuration Codes section. After issuing the configuration code, there is a pause of 4.5 seconds. Then, two-digit trouble codes are issued. First, a digit is given in the tens digit, then a digit in the digit unit. The example on the right shows a black representation of DTC 32 (preceded by a 4-digit configuration code). Codes are not

Validations are issued as follows: the first digit of the code - 1, 5 s pause - the second digit of the code - 4.5 s pause - the next fault code - the next fault code, etc. Fault codes are issued in order of occurrence of faults.

The diagnostic lamp allows you to issue fault codes again an unlimited number of times. To do this, simply press the diagnostic switch again. Fault codes remain in the memory of the control unit until forced erasing and clearing the memory.

Erasing trouble codes

After you have identified and eliminated the cause of the fault, you must clear the memory of the control unit. For the appearance of some trouble codes, it may be necessary to have a sufficiently long vehicle movement (up to half an hour). Turn the starter key and turn off the power

onboard network. Press and hold the diagnostic button

1. Turn the starter key to the onboard power position and wait 3 seconds. Erasing trouble codes is now complete. Perform a test drive on the car and make sure that the ABS and RET alarms are off.

If the alarms did not go out or the "RET" alarms turned on again, despite the erasing of the fault codes. This means that the fault has remained. A trouble code helps to locate the cause of the failure.

General information about the list

The fault codes listed below relate primarily to the 4-series vehicles, which are equipped with a Scania Retarder. The texts of messages on the fault codes are taken from the diag. SD program designed for a personal computer. Therefore, sometimes reference is made to a diagnostic computer program and the options offered there, which allow speeding up and facilitating fault diagnosis.

DTCs

The codes with the designations 01-10,20,30,40,50 and 60 do not exist (the number 0 cannot be output with the help of the flashing diag. Of the lamp). Currently, fault codes 2 3, 24, 3 8 and 45 are not used.

Failure warning indicator

If the fault no longer exists, the detector often turns off automatically. This may seem like a driver to some chance, however, in fact, due to the algorithm

functioning and safety. The text accompanying the malfunction code contains information about the behavior of the alarm device when a particular malfunction occurs and disappears.

TROUBLESHOOTING CODES

DTC 11

Malfunction:

The speed signal a / m was present during the movement of the a / m, but disappeared so quickly that it could not

be due to inhibition.

Cause:

Information about the speed of the a / m no longer enters the control unit (connector pin 16), that is, the speed signal is first present, but then disappears.

Add. intelligence:

The retarder cannot function in braking mode as long as this fault is present. If the signal appears again, which will indicate movement of the a / m, then

the visual malfunction indicator goes out and the hydro retarder starts braking. However, the DTC will be stored in the memory of the control unit. As long as the malfunction code remains in the control unit memory, the visual malfunction indicator will turn on on the stationary vehicle and continue to burn until the control unit receives the required vehicle speed signal. The malfunction code must be deleted with the help of a personal computer in order to prevent the malfunction indicator on the go of the vehicle.

DTC 11 is set only if there was a speed signal first and then disappeared. If the speed signal was absent from the moment of the vehicle launch, then DTC 11 is not set. The hydrathread slowdown malfunction indicator goes out if the malfunction is repaired.

Debugg:

The easiest way to use a computer. Go to test input signals. Slow

driving on a / m, check that the signal of the frequency of rotation of the propeller shaft was different from zero. If the signal is zero and the car is equipped with an Orysgshee system, the following recommendation may be useful: if the Opticruise system is functioning, then the cause of the fault is between

the control unit Oryspley and the control unit of the water retarder. If the Opticruise system is not functioning, then the cause of the malfunction is between the Opticruise control unit and the gearbox. Perform the following: check the speed sensor on the output shaft of the gearbox, electr. connectors and wiring. If the vehicle is not equipped with an Opticruise system, then the engine protection system against overspeed may also be checked.

DTC 12

Malfunction:

The engine crankshaft speed signal is absent, despite the fact that a'm is moving.

Cause:

Information about the frequency of rotation of the crankshaft is not received in the control unit (pin 34 connector).

Add. intelligence:

Max. the power of the water retarder will be limited as long as this fault remains. In this case, if the engine runs at low speeds, then there is also a danger of boiling of the coolant, since the cooling system pump does not provide a sufficiently intense coolant circulation. If the signal appears, confirming the operation of the engine, then the hydrate retarder will start working at full power again. However, the DTC will be stored in the memory of the control unit. DTC 12 can be set only if the control unit has information that the car is moving. Otherwise, a malfunction code would be set each time the driver turns on the onboard power supply. The visual alarm goes out as soon as a signal appears on a moving vehicle. Conversely, when the engine is not running, the warning lamp will remain on until the fault code is cleared. The signal W received from the generator is also used for the functioning of the tachograph of the a / m.

The signal is used to continuously evaluate the heat output that the cooling system is able to dissipate. For this reason, the corresponding generator and pulleys should be installed on the car. Otherwise, brake. the power of the water retarder can be limited and no fault codes are set. will not be. In any case, it is impossible to mislead the control unit (so that it increases the permissible braking power of the hydraulic retarder) by installing an unsuitable generator or inappropriate pulleys. Installing a generator of another model or other pulleys, which is associated with a change in the gear ratio of the drive, makes it necessary to specify in the control unit a different signal frequency W, which corresponds to a crankshaft rotation speed of 500 rpm. This can only be done with a diagnostic scanner. The hydrathread slowdown malfunction indicator goes out if the fault has been eliminated.

Debugg:

Check the readings given by the tachograph of the vehicle.

If the tachograph reads incorrectly, then check the electr. generator connections, belt drive health and generator health. Check the condition of the electr. connectors and wiring in the area to the control unit. Engine crankshaft speed signal

is given on pin 34 of the connector.

DTC 13

Malfunction:

The control unit has found that the difference between the temperature values, which are determined by the signals from the 2 sensors, exceeds 10 ° C, and the highest temperature value exceeds 75 ° C.

Cause:

One of the temperature sensors is faulty or the sensors wiring is faulty, going to the contact pins 25 or 43 of the control unit.

Add. intelligence:

The control unit takes into account the signal of the sensor, which shows a higher temperature, provided that the electr. The circuit of this sensor does not have a short circuit. However, if the sensor circuit has a short circuit, then the control unit uses a signal from another sensor. The visual alarm goes out as soon as the difference between the readings of the sensors becomes less than 10 ° C, or the highest temperature value becomes less than 75 ° C. However, the DTC will be stored in the memory of the control unit.

The hydrathread slowdown malfunction indicator goes out if the malfunction is repaired.

Debugg:

Check the condition of the sensors, electr. connectors and electrical wiring. If one of the sensors

has a short circuit, then fault code 14 or 15 must be set. In this case, you must first correct the fault of the short-circuited sensor before checking the wiring.

DTC 14

Malfunction:

Short circuit in temperature sensor circuit 1.

Cause:

The signal voltage from the sensor: ka temperature 1, which enters the control unit (connector pin 25), is lower than 0.3 V. This may be due to a short to ground in the sensor itself or in the sensor wiring.

Add. intelligence:

The control unit ignores the signal from the temperature sensor 1 as long as the fault is present. In this case, the control unit uses the signal from the temperature sensor 2. The visual malfunction indicator turns off if the malfunction is eliminated. However, the DTC will be stored in the memory of the control unit. The visual alarm of failure of the moderator is extinguished if the malfunction disappears.

Debugg:

Check the temperature sensor 1, electr. connectors and electrical wiring.

DTC 15

Malfunction:

Short circuit in temperature sensor circuit 2.

Cause:

The voltage of the signal from the temperature sensor 2, which enters the control unit (connector pin 43), is lower than 0.3 V. This may be due to a short to ground in the sensor itself or to. sensor wiring.

Add. intelligence:

The control unit ignores the signal from the temperature sensor 2 as long as the fault is present. In this case, the control unit uses the signal from the temperature sensor 1. The visual malfunction indicator turns off if the malfunction is eliminated. However, the DTC will be stored in the memory of the control unit. The visual alarm of failure of the moderator is extinguished if the malfunction disappears.

Debugg:

Check the temperature sensor 2, electr. connectors and electrical wiring.

DTC 16

Malfunction:

Short circuit in the control circuit function MVR (engine management program during braking).

Cause:

Short circuit at the contact output 54 or elsewhere in the external electr. a circuit that can be connected to pin 54.

Add. intelligence:

This output plug in the connector of the control unit is used to send a command to the OrIshshee control unit to turn on the engine control program during braking.

This is provided in order to increase the circulation rate of the coolant and to ensure the possibility of implementing the maximum brake. power. If wiring is not connected to pin 54, it is possible that the control unit itself is faulty. This fault is not

does not affect the hydrate retarder per se. However power is limited too often, because the coolant consumption is insufficient. Automatic switching KP to the lowest level is missing. The visual fault indicator remains on (even if the fault is no longer present) until the fault code is cleared using the diagnostic switch. The fault limiter fault indicator is turned off only after erasing the fault code.

Debugg:

If the wiring is disconnected from pin 54, and DTC 16 continues to set each time the onboard power is turned on, the control unit must be replaced. If the electrical wiring is connected to the contact, terminal 54: check the electr. connectors, wiring and Orkgshee system control unit. After that, check the serviceability of the control unit of water retarder.

DTC 17

Malfunction:

Short circuit in the motor, moderator.

Cause:

Short circuit in elec. motor, retarder circuit, in the solenoid valve or the output control stage of the control unit (connector plug 17).

Add. intelligence:

The visual fault indicator remains on (even if the fault is no longer present) until the fault code is cleared using the diagnostic switch. Some drivers require the installation of a standard floor switch designed to control the motor. retarder. Incorrect connection of such a switch may cause fault code 17, since the control unit will then receive an input signal on the output plug. The fault delay indicator is turned off only after erasing the fault code.

Debugg:

Check the e-mail magn. valve motor, retarder, electr. connectors and electrical wiring. If a separate floor switch is installed on the vehicle, check that it is properly connected: electr. +24 V power must come to the input of the switch, and the output plug

the switch must be connected to the input of the control unit (plug 51). After that, check the health of the control unit.

DTC 18

Malfunction:

When trying to turn on the braking signals (brake lights), the control unit detected a short circuit on the +24 V wire.

Cause:

Short circuit in electr. braking signal circuits or in the output control stage of the control unit (pin 55).

Add. intelligence:

The fault malfunction indicator remains on (even if the fault is no longer present) until then; until the DTC is cleared using the diagnostic switch. The output 55 of the control unit for braking signals is used to test the braking signal relay. The output signal is connected to ground. It is forbidden to connect braking signals directly to the ground via the output plug. To do this, you need to use the brake signal relay. The indicator of activation of the water retarder or the engine, retarder is installed as standard only on vehicles that are not equipped

ABS. Some drivers require the installation of such an indicator also on the car, equipped with ABS. If such an indicator is installed on the vehicle at the operation stage, then it is necessary to connect it to the +24 V power supply and to the control unit 55 plug. The indicator turns on when the circuit is shorted to ground through the plug 55. Use a conventional 1.2W lamp. In order to prevent the indicator from turning on when the brake signals are turned on when the brake is pressed. pedal, can in some cases be included in the electr. circuit diode. The fault delay indicator is turned off only after erasing the fault code.

Debugg:

Check the braking relay, electr. connectors and brake lights. If the car is installed add. the indicator, check its serviceability, and also serviceability of an electrical wiring. After that, check the health of the control unit.

DTC 19

Malfunction:

Short circuit does not allow to use the battery slave. fluid.

Cause:

Short circuit in the el. magn. battery valve slave. fluid or in the output control stage of the control unit (plug 52).

Add. intelligence:

In the presence of this fault, the deceleration agent enters into work with a delay compared to the good condition. The fault malfunction indicator remains on (even if the fault is no longer present) until the fault code is cleared using the diagnostic switch. The warning device for malfunction of the water retarder turns off only after

erase fault code.

Debugg:

Check email magn. battery valve slave. liquids, electr. connectors and wiring. AT

End check the control unit.

DTC 21

Malfunction:

Due to a short circuit e. magn. the air inlet valve is compressed; air to the proportional valve remains closed.

Cause:

Short circuit in the el. magn. the valve for the supply of compressed air to the proportional valve, in the wiring of the valve or in the output control stage of the control unit (plug 53).

Add. intelligence:

Hydraulic retarder does not work. The fault malfunction indicator remains on (even if

the fault is no longer present) until the DTC is cleared using the diagnostic switch. The fault delay indicator is turned off only after erasing the fault code.

Debugg:

Check the e-mail magn. supply valve compressed, air, electr. connectors and electrical wiring. At the end, check the health of the control unit.

DTC 22

Malfunction:

There is no possibility of regulating the brake. power due to short circuit electr. chains.

Cause:

Short circuit in the proportional valve circuit, in the electrical wiring or in the output control stage of the control unit (plug 2).

Additional information:

Hydraulic retarder does not work. Due to a short circuit, the proportional valve does not respond to the command of the control unit to turn on the hydraulic retarder to a certain brake. moment. The visual fault indicator remains on (even if the fault is no longer present) until the fault code is cleared using the diagnostic switch. The fault delay indicator is turned off only after erasing the fault code.

Debugg:

Check the condition of the proportional valve, electr. connectors and electrical wiring. At the end, check the health of the control unit.

DTC 25

Malfunction:

There is no possibility of using the battery slave. fluid due to rupture of electr. chains.

Cause:

Break in a chain el. magn. battery valve slave. fluid, in the electrical wiring or the output control stage of the control unit (plug 51).

Add. intelligence:

In the presence of this fault, the water retarder enters the work with a delay compared with the good condition. The visual fault indicator remains on (even if the fault is no longer present) until the fault code is cleared using the diagnostic switch. The warning device for malfunction of the water retarder turns off only after

erase fault code.

Debugg:

Check the e-mail magn. battery valve slave. liquids, electr. connectors and electrical wiring. At the end, check the correctness of the control unit.

DTC 26

Malfunction:

There is no possibility of the supply of compressed air to the water retarder due to the rupture of the electric. chains.

Cause:

Break in a chain el. magn. the valve for the supply of compressed air in the wiring or the output control stage of the control unit (plug 53).

Add. intelligence:

The visual fault indicator remains on (even if the fault is no longer present) until the fault code is cleared using the diagnostic switch. The fault delay indicator is turned off only after erasing the fault code.

Debugg:

Check the e-mail magn. supply valve compressed, air, electr. connectors and electrical wiring. At the end, check the health of the control unit.

DTC 27

Malfunction:

There is no possibility of regulating the brake. forces due to rupture or short circuit in electr.

chains.

Cause:

There are 3 causes of a malfunction: a break in the proportional valve circuit or in the electrical wiring (circuit between plugs 2 and 38 in the connector of the control unit); short circuit of the proportional valve mass circuit (plug 38 in the control unit connector) to ground;

Fault in the output control stage of the control unit.

Add. intelligence:

Hydraulic retarder does not work. Due to the rupture of electr. the chain proportional valve does not respond to the command of the control unit to turn on the water retarder to a certain brake. moment. The visual malfunction indicator remains lit (even if the malfunction is no longer present) until the malfunction code is cleared using the diagnostic switch. The fault delay indicator is turned off only after erasing the fault code.

Debugg:

Check the condition of the proportional valve, electr. connectors and electrical wiring. At the end, check the health of the control unit.

DTC 28

Malfunction:

Within 30 minutes (at least) the control unit did not receive confirmation that the brake. the pedal was released. This event is very unlikely and is considered as a sign

malfunction.

Cause:

Incorrect adjustment of the limit switch. pedals or jamming the brake pedals, as a result of which the pedal does not always return to its original position when it is released. Otherwise

case there is electr. a malfunction that when released brake. pedal leads to the presence of too high voltage on the plug 23 of the connector of the control unit. If the cause of the malfunction is a short circuit to the +24 V wire, then fault codes can also be set up associated with the hand lever for controlling the water retarder and 2 temperature sensors. In addition, check the possibility that the driver keeps his foot on the brake. pedals on the go a / m.

Add. intelligence:

In the presence of this fault is impossible by pressing the brake. pedal to turn on the function of stabilizing the speed of the vehicle on the descent or the water retarder This only applies to systems

for which the inclusion in the work when you press the brake. pedal. The visual warning lamp goes out as soon as the control unit receives a signal from the limit switch, indicating that the brake is released. the pedals. However, the indicator turns on again if the brake. the pedal (according to the signal from the limit switch) is held down for at least 2 minutes.

The fault delay alarm is temporarily turned off. In order to turn off the alarm, you must erase the fault code.

Debugg:

The easiest way to use a computer. Go to test input signals. Check out

so that when released torm. the pedal voltage of the sensor signal was about 0.5V. When released torm. pedals acceptable for the control unit value of the signal voltage should be in the range from 0.15V to 0.85V (voltage on plug 23). Control unit controls

the voltage of the sensor signal, comparing it with the voltage on plug 4, which is connected to ground. Electr, power supply (voltage + 5V) of the brake sensor. the pedal is provided from the control unit (plug 41). If the voltage value exceeds 0.85V or the voltage changes abruptly over a wide range, then fault code 28 is set. The indicated fault code can be set even if the voltage value has not gone beyond the permissible limits. Then check the condition of the electr. connectors and electrical wiring.

DTC 29

Malfunction:

Within 30 minutes (at least) the control unit did not receive confirmation that the clutch pedal was released. This event is very unlikely and is considered as a sign of a malfunction.

Cause:

A possible cause is a malfunction of the clutch pedal limit switch or a malfunction of the electric. circuits in the area up to plug 50 or a relay fault that can be connected between them. In addition, check the possibility that the driver keeps his foot on the clutch pedal on the go a / m.

Add. intelligence:

The speed stabilization function of the vehicle on the descent does not work until the control unit receives a signal from the limit switch that the clutch pedal is released. This applies only to vehicles with a function of stabilizing the speed on the descent, on which it is possible to control the hydraulic retarder using the brake. the pedals. The visual warning lamp goes out as soon as the control unit receives a signal from the limit switch, indicating that the clutch pedal is released. However, the indicator will turn on again if the clutch pedal (according to the signal from the limit switch)

held down for at least 2 minutes. The fault delay alarm is temporarily turned off. In order to turn off the alarm, you must erase the fault code.

Debugg:

Check the operation of the clutch pedal limit switch, relay (if any), electr. connectors and electrical wiring.

DTC 31

Malfunction:

The control unit receives a signal indicating that the button for stabilizing the speed on the trigger, which is located on the control lever of the hydraulic retarder, is continuously held down for 30 minutes. This event is very unlikely and is considered as a sign of a malfunction.

Cause:

Perhaps the reason is a malfunction of the switch or electric. the circuit in the area to plug 32 in the connector of the control unit. It is very unlikely that the driver held the button down for half an hour while driving the car. However, ask the driver if this fault code is found.

Add. intelligence:

The visual alarm goes out as soon as the switch returns to its original position. However, the indicator will turn on again if the switch is held down for at least 2 minutes.

This DTC can be set only on vehicles with the control of the speed stabilization function on the descent from the switch located on the control lever of the hydraulic retarder. On the car without this switch there is no wiring connecting the control lever to the plug 32 of the connector of the control unit.

Note that a break in this circuit does not lead to the establishment of any fault code. Using a computer, check the input to the control unit. This will allow you to quickly check the operation of the switch and all wiring. The fault delay alarm is turned off temporarily, in order to turn off the alarm, you must erase the fault code.

Debugg:

Check the operation of the switch on the control lever, electr. connectors and electrical wiring.

DTC 32

Malfunction:

The control unit received a signal from the ABS system that the wheel was continuously in a locked state for 5 minutes (no less).

This event is very unlikely and is considered as a sign of a malfunction.

Cause:

A possible cause is a fault in the wiring: most likely a short circuit to ground on the circuit section from plug 35 of the control unit of the hydraulic retarder to the corresponding plug of the ABS control unit.

The malfunction may also be caused by a failure in the anti-lock system itself: In this case, the fault codes will be stored in the ABS control unit.

Add. intelligence:

The hydraulic retarder should not brake in the process of regulating the brake. forces anti-lock system. If this happens, the control unit cannot distinguish the symptoms of a malfunction from the normal functioning of the anti-lock system. Therefore, in the presence of this fault, the water retarder is disabled. The malfunction indicator goes out as soon as the malfunction is eliminated. The fault delay indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

It is preferable to use a computer. Go to check the input signals and make sure that the signal from the ABS system comes to the plug 35 of the control of the water retarder. It should be remembered that this signal has the reverse nature of the voltage change. The water retarder can only brake if the signal voltage is high (about +24 V). In the process of regulating the brake. forces anti-lock system electr. the circuit is connected to ground in the ABS control unit itself. In this case, the signal voltage drops to zero. Then check the condition of the electr. connectors and electrical wiring between the control of the water retarder and the control unit ABS. If the cause of the malfunction could not be found here either, then one of the 2 control units is faulty.

DTC 33

Malfunction:

The control unit receives a signal that the diagnostic switch, located on the dashboard, is continuously held down for 30 minutes. This event is very unlikely and is considered as a sign of a malfunction.

Cause:

A possible cause is a faulty electr. the circuit in the area up to plug 30 of the control unit or the malfunction of the diagnostic switch, which should always return when released -

Xia to its original position.

Add. intelligence:

In the presence of this fault, turning on the onboard power supply will erase all lamp trouble codes. However, fault codes are stored in the memory of the control unit. To access the fault codes you need a personal computer with an appropriate diagnosis. the program.

Debugg:

Check the condition of the electr. connectors, wiring and switch.

DTC 34

Malfunction:

The durability of the pulse width signal used to control the topvolodacho on engines with the EDS system is equal to or exceeds 93%.

This event is very unlikely, since even a signal's duty cycle equal to 90% corresponds to the maximum fuel supply.

Cause:

A possible reason is one of the input signals that the EDC control unit receives: one of the systems, for example, the anti-skidding system of the ABL, can be “misleading”

EDC block.

Add. intelligence:

With this fault code present, the speed stabilization function on the descent does not work. The cruise control system integrated into the EDC control unit does not disable the water retarder and

motor, retarder. The malfunction indicator goes out as soon as the malfunction is eliminated. The fault delay indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Check the integrity of the EDC system by reading the fault codes (if any).

Check the condition of the electr. connectors and electrical wiring between the control unit of the water retarder and the unit EOS. If the car is not equipped with the EOS system and therefore there is no closed electr. circuit to plug 12 of the control unit, the fault lies in the control unit of the water retarder.

DTC 35

Malfunction:

Pulse width signal used to control fuel delivery on engines with a system

EDC, was present when the onboard power was turned on, and then suddenly disappeared.

Cause:

A possible cause is a malfunction of the electronic. the circuit between the EDC unit and the control unit of the water retarder, which leads to the disappearance of the signal on the plug 12 of the control unit.

Add. intelligence:

The cruise control system, built into the EDC control unit, does not turn off the hydraulic retarder and the engine, retarder. The malfunction indicator goes out as soon as the malfunction is eliminated.

Please note that DTC 35 is set only when the width of the pulse signal disappears. DTC 35 is not set if the pulse-width signal was absent at the time of power-up. The fault delay indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Check for faults electr. connectors and electrical wiring between the EDC unit and the control of the water retarder. On a car without an EPC system there is no power. circuit to plug 12 control unit. Therefore, the fault lies in the control unit itself.

DTC 36

Malfunction:

The control unit did not receive a signal confirming that the accelerator was pressed, despite the fact that the vehicle was moving for 30 minutes and reached a speed of 50 km / h. This event is very unlikely and is considered as a sign of a malfunction.

Cause:

On the plug 13 of the control unit there is no signal of pressing the accelerator pedal.

Add. intelligence:

With this DTC, the speed stabilizer function does not work. The malfunction indicator goes out as soon as the malfunction is eliminated, that is, when the control unit

Receives a signal to press the accelerator pedal. The fault delay indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Check the condition of the electr. connectors, electrical wiring and a limit switch built into the accelerator pedal position sensor.

DTC 37

Malfunction:

The control unit within 30 minutes (at least) did not receive a signal confirming pressing the clutch pedal, despite the fact that the car reached a speed of 50 km / h. This event is very unlikely and is considered as a sign of a malfunction.

Cause:

On the plug 50 of the control unit there is no clutch pedal position signal.

Add. intelligence:

With this fault code, pressing the accelerator pedal will turn off the hydraulic retarder and the engine, retarder, even if the clutch pedal is pressed. It belongs

also to the function of stabilizing the speed on the descent. The malfunction indicator goes off as soon as the control unit receives a signal to depress the clutch pedal. The fault delay indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Check the clutch pedal limit switch, electr. connectors and wiring.

DTC 39

Malfunction:

The control unit has not received a control signal from the ABS control unit. Only for vehicles equipped with ABS.

Cause:

Perhaps the reason is a malfunction of the ABS system, a malfunction of the ABS detector located on the dashboard, or a malfunction of the electronic system. wiring between the unit

control ABS and hydra retarder control unit.

Add. intelligence:

The control signal must be given when the power is turned on. Then, when you turn off the alarm ABS, the control signal should disappear. The control unit sets fault code 39 if the vehicle has already reached a certain speed, and the control signal was absent. Please note that on vehicles with an EBS system (starting from version 2.2) the ABS / EBS malfunction indicator turns off when the EBS control unit sends a “ABS fully operational” message to the hydrostremitter control unit via CAN bus "). In the presence of a fault, the possibility of switching on the water retarder using the brake. pedals missing. The speed stabilization function on the descent also stops working. However, the control lever decelerator continues to perform all other functions. The fault delay indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Check the condition of the electr. connectors, alarm system ABS, then check the rest of the elements of the anti-lock system.

DTC 41

Malfunction:

The relay integrated in the ABS control unit failed the test that is performed when the driver turns on the onboard power supply.

Cause:

Failure of the built-in ABS relay. The condition of the external wiring does not affect this test. DTC 41 can also be set if at any time the supply voltage of the control unit drops below 14.5V.

Add. intelligence:

The malfunction indicator will turn off as soon as the new ABS relay test provides a satisfactory result. The alarm of failure of the water retarder turns off temporarily,

in order to extinguish the alarm, it is necessary to erase the fault code.

Debugg:

Remove the DTC. Turn the power supply off and on several times in a row.

Check if DTC 41 appears again. If the code appears, then you need to replace the control unit.

Fault codes 42,43,44

Malfunction:

The control unit is malfunctioning or not working at all. Fault codes 42,43 and 44 are identical and can be set independently of each other.

Cause:

Malfunction of one of the storage devices of the control unit.

Add. intelligence:

Typically, troubleshooting with a personal computer becomes impossible if there are such serious control unit failures. Fault alarm

Hydro retarder turns off only after erasing the DTC.

Debugg:

Remove the DTC. Turn the power supply off and on several times in a row.

Check if DTC 42 appears again. If the code appears, then you need to replace the control unit.

DTC 46

Malfunction:

Hydraulic retarder works with some remarks.

Cause:

Malfunction of the memory of the control unit does not allow for fine control of the current output of the control signal (plug 2). Therefore, when regulating the proportional valve, the control unit is forced to use the averaged values of the amperage.

Add. intelligence:

When this fault occurs, the control unit will use fixed averages. In this case, the water retarder works with approximately the same efficiency as usual. Therefore, most likely, the driver will not notice any malfunction. In addition, code 46 does not turn on the visual malfunction indicator located on the dashboard. The fault indicator does not light up.

Debugg:

Replace the control unit only if the driver complains about poor control of the brake. the moment of the water retarder. In other cases, this is not necessary. The fixed values used by the control unit, as a rule, provide a comfortable level and quite acceptable quality of regulation of the brake. torque moment,

Fault code 47

Malfunction:

Wrong signal voltage level from control lever.

It is applied only to systems for which the possibility of inclusion by means of the manual lever is provided.

Cause:

Lever potentiometer or electr. the circuit between the potentiometer and the plug 8 of the connector of the control unit has a short circuit or an open circuit.

Add. intelligence:

In the presence of a malfunction, the water retarder and the motor, the retarder cannot be switched on with the control lever. The control unit accepts an input signal, which comes to connector plug 8 as a voltage from 0.25 V to 4.75 V. A plug 26, which is connected to ground, is used by the control unit to compare the voltage of the input signal. DTC 47 is set if the voltage of the input signal falls outside the above limits. The supply voltage (+ 5V) for the lever potentiometer is provided by the control unit (pin 44). The malfunction indicator goes out as soon as the voltage of the input signal changes to an acceptable value. In exceptional circumstances

DTC 47 can also be set during a short circuit in some elements of the brake sensor. pedals or in his wiring. This may be due to the fact that both potentiometers mounted on the brake. pedals and control lever, get electr. nutrition from

common plug control unit. Failure warning indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Check the condition of the electr. connectors, electrical wiring and control lever.

DTC 48

Malfunction:

The control unit has detected an incorrect input voltage from the brake sensor. the pedals. Applies only to systems for which it is possible to switch on using the brake. the pedals.

Cause:

Potentiometer brake pedals or electr. the circuit in the area from the potentiometer to the plug 23 of the control unit has a short circuit or a break. Other possible causes of a malfunction are incorrect adjustment of the brake. pedals or brake the crane.

Add. intelligence:

The presence of a malfunction does not allow to enable the function of stabilizing the speed of the vehicle on the descent and the hydraulic retarder using a pedal. When released torm. pedals input voltage

which comes to the plug 23 of the control unit, must be in the range from 0.15 V to 0.85 V. The plug 4, which is connected to ground, is used by the control unit to compare the voltage

input signal. Supply voltage (+ 5V) for the brake sensor. pedals provided by the control unit (pin 41). DTC 48 is set only if the input signal voltage with the pedal released drops below 0.15V.

If the input signal voltage is higher than 0.85V, then fault code 28 is set. The malfunction indicator goes out as soon as the input signal voltage changes to an acceptable value. In exceptional circumstances, fault code 48 may also be set during a short circuit in some elements of the potentiometer of the control lever or in its wiring. This may be due to the fact that both potentiometers mounted on the brake pedal and on the control lever receive an electr. powered by a common plug control unit.

Failure warning indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Check the condition of the electr. connectors, wiring and potentiometer sensor brake. the pedals.

DTC 49

Malfunction:

The control unit received an alarm signal from the ABS control unit. Applies only to vehicles with ABS.

Cause:

There may be a malfunction of the anti-lock system (ABS), a malfunction of the ABS alarm device located on the dashboard, or a malfunction of the electronic system. circuits between the unit

control ABS and plug 14 of the control unit of hydra retarder.

Add. intelligence:

If there is a malfunction, the activation of the water retarder using the brake pedals impossible. The speed stabilization function on the descent also stops working. However, at the same time the control lever of the water retarder continues to perform all other functions. If DTC 49 is stored in the memory of the control unit, the fault retarder will not turn off until the ABS malfunction indicator goes off. In some cases this requires that the vehicle move at a speed of at least 7 km / h. Please note that if the vehicle is equipped with an EBS system (from version 2.2), the ABS / EBS malfunction indicator can light up without deactivating the control of the water retarder from the brake. the pedals. For these systems, the function of the control of deceleration from the brake. the pedal is turned off when the EBS control unit stops transmitting the “ABS fully operational” message to the control unit for the hydraulic retarder (the ABS system is fully operational). The fault indicator of the water retarder extinguishes after the ABS / EBS malfunction indicator.

Debugg:

Start by checking the health of the ABS system. Then check the condition of the electr. connectors and

electrical wiring. If the car is not equipped with an ABS system and therefore there is no closed electr. circuit to plug 14 of the control unit, then the fault lies in the control unit itself

hydrate retarder.

DTC 51

Malfunction:

The control unit does not correspond to the water delay device.

Cause:

The control unit is set to a version of the water retarder, which it cannot control using the existing computer program. There may be 2 reasons for this. One of them is that the configuration of the control unit is incorrectly set (the type of control unit corresponds to the hydraulic retarder). This leads to the fact that the control unit functions in the way it would have done if it was installed on a vehicle of another variant of a hydraulic retarder. The second reason is that the control unit is too outdated for this hydraulic retarder.

Add. intelligence:

It is not possible to configure the control unit for special options that require modified computer programs. The fault delay indicator is turned off only after erasing the fault code.

DTC 52

Malfunction:

Within 30 minutes (at least) the control unit did not receive confirmation that the motor and retarder floor switch was released. This event is very unlikely and

considered as a sign of malfunction. (A floor switch is not installed as standard equipment.)

Cause:

Malfunction of the floor switch or electr. circuits in the area to plug 51. In addition, check the possibility that the driver is keeping his foot on the floor switch on the go of the a / m.

Add. intelligence:

The floor switch cannot be used to turn on the motor, retarder, until the control unit receives a signal that the floor switch has been released. The visual alarm goes out as soon as the control unit receives a signal that the floor switch is released. However, the warning light comes on again if the on / off switch is held

down for at least 2 minutes. Fault alarm

The hydrazine slower turns off temporarily in order to extinguish the alarm device, you must erase the fault code

Debugg:

Check the operation of the floor switch, electr. connectors and electr. circuits in the area to plug 51 of the control unit.

DTC 61

Malfunction:

The control unit is malfunctioning or not working at all.

Cause:

Malfunction of the memory of the control unit that works with the CAN bus.

Add. intelligence:

Usually, troubleshooting with a personal computer becomes impossible if there are such serious failures of the control unit. Fault alarm

Hydro retarder turns off only after erasing the DTC.

Debugg:

Remove the DTC. Turn the power supply off and on again several times in a row. Check to see if malfunction code 61 has reappeared. If malfunction code 61 reappears, then the control unit must be replaced.

DTC 62

Malfunction:

No communication signal from the EDC control unit.

Cause:

There is a long signal delay expected from the EDC control unit. The signal is transmitted via the bus lines "CAN LOW" and "CAN HIGH", which are connected respectively to plugs 39 and 40 of the control unit of the hydro retarder.

Add. intelligence:

This DTC should not appear because on a vehicle equipped with a hydraulic retarder control unit of this model, data exchange via the CAN bus between the hydraulic retarder control unit and the EDC control unit is not used. Fault alarm

The hydrazine slower turns off if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Remove the DTC. Turn the power supply off and on again several times in a row. Check whether fault code 62 has reappeared. Check the configuration parameters of the control unit, which determine the interaction with the CAN bus.

The control unit does not have to communicate via CAN. If the configuration was set to exchange data on the CAN bus, then you need to change the configuration of the control unit using a diagnostic scanner. If the steps described above do not help, then you need to replace the control unit.

DTC 63

Malfunction:

No communication signal from the EBS control unit.

Cause:

There is a long signal delay expected from the EBS control unit. The signal is transmitted via the bus lines "CAN LOW" and "CAN HIGH", which are connected respectively to plugs 39 and 40 of the control unit of the hydro retarder.

Add. intelligence:

The control unit of the decelerating device constantly receives messages from the control unit EBS and, thus, monitors the performance of the data transmission channel. If these messages are not available, then fault code 63 is set and the water retarder malfunction indicator goes on. The fault delay indicator goes out if the fault disappears.

Debugg:

Check for the presence of fault codes stored in the EBS control unit. Check out

electr. connectors and wiring of the data transmission circuit.
