Detroit Diesel Lineup

• DD13 – 12.8 liter displacement, 370–505 hp, for regional and intermodal haulage.
• DD15 – 14.8 liter displacement, 400–505 hp, the primary engine for long-haul haulage.
• DD16 – 15.6 liter displacement, up to 600 hp, for severe conditions and heavy loads.

Cummins Lineup (Cascadia options)

• Cummins ISX15 (later X15) – 400–605 hp, a reliable engine for long-haul haulage, an alternative to the DD15/DD16.
• Cummins X12 is a lightweight engine (since 2018), with a power output of 350–500 hp, for regional and medium-duty haulage.

Features

Since the 2010s, Freightliner has focused primarily on Detroit Diesel engines with E PA10, GHG14, GHG17, and EPA21 technologies.

The DD15 is considered the most popular engine for the Cascadia, offering the optimal balance between power and fuel efficiency.

For severe conditions and heavy-duty applications, the DD16 or Cummins X15 are more often chosen.
